Summary

Garrett serves as the director of Path to Change Alpharetta. He is a licensed professional counselor with a passion for helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. He brings warmth, empathy, and professionalism to his work, creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered.
Garrett holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus in counseling and human development. His journey in the mental health field began in community counseling. From 2017 to 2020, he gained rich experience working with a diverse range of individuals and concerns. Since 2020, he has been part of the team at Path to Change.
Garrett works with children ages 8 and up, teens, and adults, with a special focus on treating anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). He has extensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a gold-standard treatment for OCD. He is also trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), which focuses on teaching parents how to help their anxious children. He enjoys working closely with both children and their parents, helping families build stronger connections while equipping parents with practical skills to support their child’s growth at home.
One of Garrett’s strengths is his ability to form strong, trusting relationships with clients of all ages. He has a calm, encouraging presence that helps clients feel safe and supported.
Outside the therapy room, Garrett enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, drawing and painting, photography, camping, rock climbing, coffee, and playing video games. He loves connecting with people through their interests and makes efforts to tie them into the counseling process.
