Summary

Ken Ellithorpe is a counselor dedicated to helping clients navigate trauma, overcome addiction, and achieve lasting restoration.

Guilt is the feeling of having done something wrong, whereas shame is the belief that there is something wrong with you. Ken's job, as he has seen it since beginning his journey in counseling, is to help clients understand the difference between these two words, as they are all too often conflated and turned into a burden that feels impossible to carry.

Ken has worked with men dealing with sexual and pornography addiction, focusing on helping clients understand the "why" of their issues so that they can begin to engage in the "how" of healing and restoration. He utilizes trauma-centered approaches to therapy that are grounded in Adlerian Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Ken believes that our past does not have to define our present, much less our future, and that through this work, clients can allow God to heal the deep wounds of trauma.
