Dr. Crawford is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been practicing in the Atlanta area for 30 years. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in clinical psychology at St. Louis University and completed his internship at Emory University School of Medicine. He served as the clinical director of both an adolescent and adult inpatient treatment program at West Paces Ferry Hospital before transitioning into private practice. Dr. Crawford has been in practice with Michael Lyles, M.D. since 1997, and they see patients in their Roswell office.
Dr. Crawford works with children (ages 10 and older), adolescents, adults, couples, and families on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), behavioral problems, and relationship problems. He also performs psychoeducational evaluations to assess for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning issues, etc.
Dr. Crawford consults one day a week at Pace Academy in Atlanta and has served as their consulting psychologist since 2003. He was the team psychologist for the Atlanta Hawks from 2004 until 2008. Dr. Crawford has written two books: The Obsessive-Compulsive Trap: Real Help for a Real Disorder and When Two Become Three: Nurturing Your Marriage After Baby Arrives as well as numerous articles and book chapters. He has been featured as an expert guest on "ABC’s World News This Morning,” “House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta,” “CNN Headline News,” and several other local television and radio programs. Dr. Crawford also speaks regularly on a variety of topics for churches, parent groups, and schools.
