Summary

Melanie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who is passionate about helping teens and adults navigate anxiety, depression, grief and loss, codependency, burnout, and life transitions. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults as they navigate identity development, family and peer relationships, and the pressures often associated with school and emerging adulthood.
Melanie has a special interest in supporting individuals who work in ministry and healthcare professions. She understands the unique emotional demands these roles can bring. She partners with clients to develop healthy boundaries, build resilience, and prevent or manage compassion fatigue.
Melanie is committed to creating a warm, supportive space where clients feel genuinely heard, valued, and understood. Meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic collaboration. In each session, she combines practical coping skills to move toward their personal goals using a holistic approach focused on emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual well-being. She integrates evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to meet each client's unique needs.
Melanie earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and her master of arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary. Outside of the counseling office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, baking, and getting lost in a good book.
