Summary

Melinda is a native Californian who moved to Dallas, Texas in 1998 where she met her husband, Brook. They have been happily married for almost 23 years and have two college-aged sons. She completed her graduate work at the University of North Texas at Dallas in December 2016.

Melinda and her family moved to Atlanta six years ago where she pursues counseling in private practice. She enjoys building and cultivating relationships with each person. She understands the importance of the individual designing their own therapeutic experience, so they can be the best version of themselves while creating healthy habits. Melinda's goals in counseling include creating a safe and nurturing environment for each person in order to establish trust. She values listening to the needs of individuals while reminding them of their value and allowing them to write the narrative for their life. She emphasizes that each client is responsible for their choices as these affect their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

After many years of seeing teenagers, adults, couples, and families, Melinda believes the relationship between the client and the counselor is paramount to the client’s success in counseling. It takes courage, commitment, collaboration, and connection to heal through the therapeutic journey.
