Summary

It was her own life experiences and trauma that led Sally to follow God’s call to go back to graduate school and become a counselor after 20 years in the business world. She began her journey in 2008 by getting a Master of Science in counseling from Mercer University and started counseling clients in 2012. She is a faith-based counselor working with adults and adolescents in the areas of trauma, suicidal ideation and self-harm, mood disorders (including depression, anxiety, and bipolar), as well as relationship challenges including recovery from emotionally abusive relationships and spiritual questioning.
Sally uses a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) skills that identify unhealthy thinking patterns and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills that improve ways to self-regulate emotions. For clients needing to work on past, unresolved trauma, she uses the method of trauma resolution called progressive counting, which helps a client feel safe during this process. Sally’s desire is to develop a relationship with each client that allows them to nurture their mind, body, and spirit. She hopes that her clients will feel safe and understood in a non-judgmental environment of support and care.
