Anchored Mind Counseling + Nutrition
Roswell, GA
Michael and his wife, Kristen, co-founded Anchored Mind Counseling + Nutrition—a multidisciplinary private practice that seeks to invest in the lives of their clients and community. Located in historic downtown Roswell, they aim to establish roots by partnering with local organizations, offering group experiences, and building a culture of growth and generosity. Michael received a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Richmont Graduate University. He is certificated in marriage and family therapy and trauma counseling. Michael has pursued additional relationally focused training through the highly regarded Gottman Institute and is a certified facilitator of Prepare/Enrich relationship assessments. Michael works with adults and couples to address a wide range of concerns, including men’s issues, relationship dynamics, life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, sexual identity, spiritual formation, and career counseling. He seeks to create a safe and collaborative space for clients to move toward hope and healing. Michael’s approach to the therapeutic process is best expressed by the words of Jon Kabat-Zinn: “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf.” Before his career in counseling, Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Kennesaw State University and spent several years working for Apple Inc. as a manager and trainer. Throughout high school and college, he worked as a martial arts instructor, a pursuit he credits with cultivating an appreciation for mindfulness and a continued enthusiasm for physical fitness.
Atlanta Wellness Collective
Roswell, GA
Alexandra enjoys working with children (ages 10+), teens, adults, and families as they no longer allow anxiety, upbringing, trauma, and difficult life experiences define their day-to-day living. Her areas of focus include play therapy, family therapy, family conflict, separation and divorce, parenting, communication, trauma and PTSD, EMDR, neurodiversity and ADHD, anxiety and stress, self-esteem, self-compassion, and identity work. Alexandra also has specific, advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), providing an evidenced-based framework to help individuals experience healing from traumatic events, and AutPlay, a specific modality of counseling for neurodivergent children and teens. Alexandra believes humans are designed to intimately connect with others in loving and secure relationships. When connection and safety become broken, behavioral and relational issues and emotional pain can occur. The counseling relationship can provide a safe support to help you or your family restore and rebuild peace and stronger relationships. Alexandra allows a space for children (and often their parents) to play, be active and creative, and feel confident and empowered to express themselves to find healing. She is highly effective in working directly with parents to set goals and better understand their child’s challenges and what they are going through. Alexandra earned a master’s degree in clinical mental counseling with a focus on addiction counseling from the University of North Georgia and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in applied statistics. She is board-certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and is licensed as an associate professional counselor under direction and supervision. In addition to practicing at Atlanta Wellness Collective, Alexandra enjoys weightlifting and connecting with nature through hiking, cooking, and running. You can often find her outside with a cup of coffee and a book or catching the next plane on a new adventure. A note from Alexandra — “My goal is to create a safe and empathetic environment where you, your child, or your family feel encouraged to heal, learn, and grow. Taking that first step toward healing can feel daunting and stressful. Counseling is a collaborative relationship that can help you transform and gain confidence. You are not alone. I’m excited to work alongside you to grow!”
