Marissa Mundy

Marissa Mundy

Restorative Counseling Services

2 locations

Marissa Mundy, LPC, CPCS is the Clinical Director for Restorative Counseling Services, where she serves as the resident couples and family therapist. Clients appreciate her warm and empathetic nature paired with her direct and clear approach. Many couples come to work with Marissa when they are experiencing high levels of conflict, arguments become explosive, and they don’t know how to stop the hurt. Other couples seek help because they find it hard to speak openly with their partners and have fallen into a pattern of avoidance. Whether your marital distress is very loud or painfully quiet, counseling can help. Marissa uses an approach called Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples increase their attachment bond, reduce conflict, and increase intimacy. Additionally, Marissa regularly works with couples to repair relational wounds that threaten to end the relationship, including affairs, betrayals, addictions, and trauma.  For family therapy, Marissa applies the same principles of EFT to help all family members thrive. She works with families with adult children who seek to create a healthier dynamic now that all members of the family system have “flown the nest." Sometimes the entire family will come to therapy, and sometimes Marissa works with a dyad, such as a mother and adult daughter or father and adult son. She also works with adult siblings at any stage of life to create closer bonds.
