Alexandra enjoys working with children (ages 10+), teens, adults, and families as they no longer allow anxiety, upbringing, trauma, and difficult life experiences define their day-to-day living. Her areas of focus include play therapy, family therapy, family conflict, separation and divorce, parenting, communication, trauma and PTSD, EMDR, neurodiversity and ADHD, anxiety and stress, self-esteem, self-compassion, and identity work. Alexandra also has specific, advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), providing an evidenced-based framework to help individuals experience healing from traumatic events, and AutPlay, a specific modality of counseling for neurodivergent children and teens. Alexandra believes humans are designed to intimately connect with others in loving and secure relationships. When connection and safety become broken, behavioral and relational issues and emotional pain can occur. The counseling relationship can provide a safe support to help you or your family restore and rebuild peace and stronger relationships. Alexandra allows a space for children (and often their parents) to play, be active and creative, and feel confident and empowered to express themselves to find healing. She is highly effective in working directly with parents to set goals and better understand their child’s challenges and what they are going through. Alexandra earned a master’s degree in clinical mental counseling with a focus on addiction counseling from the University of North Georgia and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in applied statistics. She is board-certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and is licensed as an associate professional counselor under direction and supervision. In addition to practicing at Atlanta Wellness Collective, Alexandra enjoys weightlifting and connecting with nature through hiking, cooking, and running. You can often find her outside with a cup of coffee and a book or catching the next plane on a new adventure. A note from Alexandra — “My goal is to create a safe and empathetic environment where you, your child, or your family feel encouraged to heal, learn, and grow. Taking that first step toward healing can feel daunting and stressful. Counseling is a collaborative relationship that can help you transform and gain confidence. You are not alone. I’m excited to work alongside you to grow!”

Brokenness and disillusionment in marriage saddens me because I know there is a better way. As a counselor trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Couples Therapy, my passion is to assist in building extraordinary connection between partners who have lost their way to each other's hearts. My practice is all about relationships. In addition to counseling married couples, I help singles understand the importance of discovering and bringing their authentic selves to relationships and the divorced rediscover their voices and significance in the midst of their grief. I also help prepare premarital couples for the uncharted but rewarding journey of marriage. Relationship starts with authentically sharing one's inner world with another person. I seek to come alongside my clients to tackle relational hindrances, such as difficulty truly knowing and accepting one’s self, communication-skill deficits, and distrust related to past traumatic events. I see exploring emotions—past and present—as foundational for growth in individuals as well as couples. My view of the correlation of Biblical truths and sound psychological and communication principles provides an opportunity for progress in life on many levels.

It is my honor and privilege to walk alongside my clients in a supportive, non-judgmental relationship, giving them a safe space for developing self-awareness, learning healthy coping skills, and improving their quality of life. I work best with adults and adolescents ages 16+. I have been in practice since 2011 and earned a master’s degree in community counseling from University of North Georgia. I have worked at Eagle Ranch children’s home in Flowery Branch, Georgia and at Still Waters, a nonprofit Christian counseling center in Gainesville, Georgia. In my own private practice, I currently see clients virtually. I combine cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems to help my clients who are dealing with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, codependency, anger, grief, and loss as well as marriage, parenting, and spiritual concerns. For clients seeking Christian counseling, I am able to offer a Christ-centered, Biblical approach. I believe that renewing of the mind through the truth of God‘s word and renewing of the heart through experiencing his love are the foundations for peace and joy, regardless of life circumstances. No matter our struggles, Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly.” I love helping my clients on their journey to find this abundant life.
