Sarah Collier

Sarah Collier

Tapestry Associates

Marietta, GA

Sarah’s perspective is that life is complicated and it's easy to get lost along the way as people face their own struggles like fear, insecurity, shame, and worry. If those struggles are kept in the dark, they'll only take root and trip people up while making them start to forget truth. It's only by bringing those dark places into the light that those roots can vanish and truth can be seen and grow in ways never imagined. She considers it a joy to partner with others through that process and remove the stigma in seeking help. Sarah graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and from Richmont Graduate University with a Master of Arts in marriage and family therapy. She then served in two private practices and two other universities as their counselor. She has loved working with teens, young adults, women, moms, individuals, and couples. Her current place of practice, Tapestry, thrives in a warm, inviting, and safe environment where the counseling staff is a family who’s dedicated to joining with their clients wherever they are in the journey and walking with them to greater wholeness and healing.

Kristen Shoemaker

Kristen Shoemaker

Renovating Hope Counseling, LLC

Roswell, GA

Kristen is a licensed professional counselor with more than 18 years of experience as a licensed clinician and consultant to individuals, couples, and families. Professional services include counseling and wellness coaching. She has specialized training in providing therapy from a faith-based perspective to serve clients who are interested in that approach. Since 2004, Kristen has been walking alongside individuals as they begin to uncover the larger story that God might be working in their hearts. Often, as individuals reflect on the journey of their lives, it seems as if the story they are living is not the story they had hoped to find themselves in. Heartache from the past, and even anxiety about an uncertain future, can serve to distort one’s view of oneself and the unfolding story. Watching God use brokenness to move people toward redemption and wholeness is one of Kristen's greatest privileges as a therapist. Kristen takes an integrative approach to therapy and feels that one of the most important catalysts for change is found in the strength of the therapeutic alliance. Within that alliance is a collaboration and an agreement on a client's goals and treatment tasks.

Radiant Life Counseling

Atlanta, GA

You’ve booked the venue, found the dress, and you may even know what your reception food will taste like! It’s all super exciting, but the stress of wedding planning is affecting your relationship with your fiancé in ways you didn’t expect. You have wanted to do premarital counseling, hoping that will help, but it feels like one more thing to plan, schedule, and pay for. Thinking about the support it could provide and the foundation it could set for your marriage brings hope, but finding a therapist feels overwhelming! There is hope! In 6–8 sessions, premarital counseling covers topics such as communication, conflict, marriage expectations, roles, parenting, and much more. The goal is to have in-depth conversations around these areas to foster connection and a solid foundation before marriage. Plus, you’ll use a researched-based assessment tool that gives you an honest look at your relationship, helping guide the counseling process. The assessment comes with a workbook containing worksheets to utilize during sessions. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I specialize in working with engaged couples in premarital counseling. I make it easy to learn about the process and get scheduled, and I provide support for each couple as they walk through this season. I have planned an elopement and soon a full wedding—all during the pandemic. I know it’s exhausting, and I am here to help!

Dara Stockton

Dara Stockton

Stockton & Stockton Counseling, LLC located within New Hope Counseling Center and Foundation Counseling

Woodstock, GA

Dara delights in assisting couples and individuals in challenging situations. She enjoys working with couples as they prepare for marriage as well as couples confronting crises who require more than mere skill building for an enduring solution. Problems such as recovering from an affair or betrayal or overcoming the effects of pornography and compulsive sexual behaviors can destroy a marriage without guided intervention, but Dara is available to join a couple in the fight to preserve their marriage and establish a more intimate and satisfying partnership. To facilitate her goals with couples, she has received advanced training in emotionally focused therapy (EFT), earned a specialization in Christian sex therapy, and received training to become a certified sex addiction therapist (CSAT). Her plans are to complete the final module of CSAT training in August 2019. In individual therapy, Dara assists those who have experienced loss, abuse, trauma, or relational problems. She has received training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and internal family systems (IFS). She particularly enjoys working with those suffering from betrayal trauma.
