Liz Fava has a passion for seeing clients establish and restore healthy relationships—and for helping them live their lives to the fullest. Many habits, issues, and wounds from the past—along with a lack of skills or training—can keep individuals and couples from having the strong relationships they’ve always wanted. But things don’t have to stay that way; change can happen! Liz collaborates with clients to get to the bottom of their unique challenges. She provides them with tools for improving their relationships, not just with intimate partners, but also with friends, family, and colleagues. Liz views her work with clients as collaborative. She believes clients bring a lot to the table, and she walks with them through their growth process. Her clients appreciate that she provides support and makes them feel safe in therapy. They also appreciate that Liz doesn’t shy away from offering ideas or direct feedback—or challenging a thought or belief that might be getting in the way of progress. Liz uses a variety of approaches. She is holistic, looking at all aspects of life: mind, body, and spirit. For couples, she is trained in the Gottman Method, an approach that is research-driven and science-based. She uses Prepare/Enrich for working with premarital couples. Liz uses Brainspotting to help clients trying to heal from past traumas.
