Mary Anne Sylvester is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Furman University and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. During her graduate program, she gained experience working with individuals and families in both medical and private practice settings. 

Mary Anne works with children, teens, and adult clients experiencing a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, social skills development, emotion regulation, identity development, self-esteem, grief and loss, pregnancy and postpartum, parenting, and life transitions. She strives to create a comfortable space for clients to be authentic and work through their concerns. She encourages her clients to discover their strengths, explore ways to empower themselves, and promote healthy change. Mary Anne utilizes play therapy and expressive arts therapy with her younger clients as a method for interaction, establishing rapport, and diving deeper into the therapeutic work. As a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, Mary Anne offers parenting education and values working closely with the family system to encourage positive growth and development.
