Are you an overachiever or high performer? Would you call yourself a perfectionist, or do you worry about not being “enough” despite knowing that you're doing well at work or at home? Mikela is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) who loves helping people release judgment and shame to increase their ability to fully experience their lives, embracing their humanity and imperfections while still going after their goals. Sometimes this takes working on relationships, healing from trauma, shifting unhealthy thinking patterns, managing anxiety, setting boundaries, releasing unrealistic expectations of self, and/or accepting yourself. She has training and background in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Gottman Method (couples work), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and trauma work, and more. She has been a therapist for about eight years and worked in business prior to becoming a counselor. Mikela is known for gently nudging her clients to release the judgment and shame they hold toward themselves. She helps them learn to set boundaries and enjoy being in the moment as opposed to living in the past or worrying about the future.
